Yehliu Geopark “is famous for its sea-erosion landscape, while most of the spots are very close to the sea, tourists are advised to observe the tour guide regulations in case of the occurrence of possible danger or causing any damage to the natural resources.” (Yehliu’s Website)
Transportation: We went to Taipei Main Station exit and follow signs towards Taipei West Bus Station and take the 1815 (~NT$100). You will exit at the Yehliu stop, and from there it is a 5-10 minute walk to the entrance. The bus is like a charter bus, here is their website. Travel time from Taipei Main to Yehliu Stop is around two hours.
Cost: If I remember right it will cost NT$80 for regular fare, NT$40 for half-fare, and students should get in for free.
Facilities: Their are multiple locations of restrooms after the entrance and before it.
Food: Their is a small market with many different dried fruits/meats, drinks, and full meals right near the entrance. Also nearby is a FamilyMart, 7-Eleven, and many seafood family style restaurants.
Note: This is a really touristy place, expect higher priced foods (maybe lower quality) and long lines of tourists. Also, weather is very important because it will determine how good the view is here. I urge you to check the weather on the coast ahead of time since it can rapidly change here. On a cool day the wind may be pretty chilly so bring an extra jacket just in case.
Worth Counter: 5/5 MUST SEE! – I love these types of places! It was so cool to walk around and see the power of nature. I definitely recommend going here as its a rare occasion to get to see this type of erosion occurring in nature.
